Hi, I’m Alex

I’ve been teaching IB, IGCSE and AP Mathematics to international-school students in Singapore since 2010. Over 16 years, I’ve guided hundreds of students through some of the most demanding maths curricula in the world and helped them reach universities around the world.

I focus on building intuition and logical structure, not memorising formulas. Before teaching full time I worked as an electrical engineer, and I still teach mathematics as a tool for reasoning.

I believe the best learning happens when students are given room to think, make mistakes and find their own solutions. My role is to guide that process with patience, clarity, and 16 years of knowing exactly where students get stuck.

Good results in one subject rarely come from that subject alone. With private students I look at the whole picture, including study habits, planning and revision, and help them build a way of learning that works in every subject.

Today I teach a small number of private students, create online courses through Math with Alex Academy, offer university admissions consulting to a few families each year, and teach group classes at an academy in Orchard, Singapore.
